Family Smart/Kid Friendly:

In January 2009, Family Literacy joined the Family Smart/Kid Friendly (FSKF) Partnership.  Family
Smart/Kid Smart families do not attend FLR's literacy programming, but have children under the age
of 5 and need other support services.

Family Literacy's home visitation program is Parents as Teachers (PAT) certified. And families served
through FSKF receive at least bimonthly home visits providing Ages and Stages developmental
screenings, monthly information on child development,  age appropriate play activity guides, and age
appropriate activities done with home visitor, parent(s) and child.

Parents also have opportunities to attend monthly family workshops/activities.  

Emphasis is on helping families build the emotional, economic and educational strengths to raise
children well.
